BACKGROUND: Cheryl is a shareholder in the firm's Tampa office and practices in the areas of commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditor's rights. Prior to joining GrayRobinson in 2004, Cheryl served as a judicial clerk to Hon. C. Timothy Corcoran, III, United States Bankruptcy Judge - Middle District of Florida from August 1992 to August 2003. Her role as a judicial clerk included conducting legal research in bankruptcy, commercial, tax, and family law issues as they related to pending bankruptcy matters. Cheryl also reviewed trial records and drafted opinions for matters under advisement; analyzed motions for discussions with the Judge; responded to attorneys' inquiries; and worked on special projects as they were assigned. Upon Judge Corcoran's retirement, Cheryl performed these tasks for Chief Judge Paul M. Glenn, under the supervision of Judge Michael G. Williamson in support of the more than 5,000 cases that remained unassigned pending Judge K. Rodney May's taking the bench. Cheryl also reviewed trial records and drafted decisions for Judge Williamson and Chief Judge Emeritus Alexander Paskay and conducted legal research for former Chief Judge Thomas Baynes.
