School: St. Louis University
Hometown: St. Louis
Greetings everyone. I am Chester Lampkin, the morning meteorologist here at KRCG. I hail from St. Louis and I've spent most of my life including my college years in that city. I attended Saint Louis University, where I graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology and a B.A. in History. I've always had a strong interest in weather, even as a child growing up, and I knew that I wanted to find a career with weather when I headed off to college. My broadcast career began in Grand Junction, Colorado, where I was the morning meteorologist and co-anchor at KJCT News 8. I am happy to continue my career back in my home state and look forward to forecasting for the heart of Missouri every weekday morning.
Aside from my interest in weather, I also enjoy a variety of subjects and hobbies during my spare time. This includes reading, politics, music, jogging, and various outdoor activities. I enjoy traveling whenever possible and hope to explore more of mid-Missouri now that I reside here. I'm also a huge baseball fan, more specifically a Cardinals fan and will try to catch a game at Busch Stadium whenever possible. When I'm not spending time with work and hobbies, I spend as much time as I can with family and friends. I also hope to get involved with the mid-Missouri community in the near future. So if you see me out and about feel free to stop me and say hello. I am excited to be here in the heart of Missouri and am happy to help get the day started for everyone with Dick and Monica on KRCG news at sunrise. |
