In September, 1999, while attending high school, I started working at Lexus of Annapolis in a part time capacity as a Lot Attendant. I had various duties with receiving new cars that were delivered to the dealership and parking the cars in the lot. After I graduated from high school in May, 2001, I was offered a promotion to Lot Attendant Manager.
I saw that the company was growing, and I had always had an interest in cars (from a mechanical stand point). When I learned about a joint program through Toyota/Lexus and the local community colleges called Toyota Technical Education Network (T-ten), I knew this was for me. This program allows individuals to obtain their Associates Arts degree and technical training in the automotive field while apprenticing through the dealership. I enrolled in the program and at the end of two years, I graduated with an A.A degree, various A.S.E certifications and the level of Toyota Pro Technician.
I have since come on board as a fulltime Lexus Team Technician at Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis and obtained my Maryland State Inspectors license. I recently married and purchased my first home in the Annapolis area. I know I will continue to see great things happening at Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis now and in the future. |
