Christa Hildebrand, a member of the firm, concentrates her practice on intellectual property law. Her practice involves a wide range of intellectual property counseling, including domestic and international strategic planning of patent procurement, such as preparation of patent applications, national and international filing and prosecution, appeals, reexamination, reissue proceedings, interferences and licensing. She is also experienced in rendering opinions on patent enforceability, infringement and validity, and product clearance.

Christa also has experience in the procurement of trademarks, especially registrations of marks in classes covering technical/scientific subject matters. She handles domestic and supervises foreign prosecution, as well as U.S. opposition practice. She is also experienced in performing due diligence assessments of worldwide intellectual property portfolios.
Christa handles a broad range of technologies in the areas of mechanical, electrical, optical and chemo-technical arts, medical devices and diagnostics equipment, consumer products, software applications, business method/e-commerce, nano-technology and neural networks.
Born in Germany and educated in Europe and the United States, she has an in-depth knowledge of international aspects of intellectual property law and recent European intellectual property developments. Christa is a member of the PLI faculty and recently lectured at the University of California at Berkeley on Technology Transfer in a Global Society and International Intellectual Property Protection. Christa works out of the firm�s New York City office. |
