Chris is a trial attorney whose practice is devoted to commercial litigation, particularly insurance recovery disputes. He has successfully enforced the coverage rights of policyholders across the country in cases relating to nearly every type of insurance policy, including transportation, environmental, employment and professional liability, as well as homeowners, life and excess insurance.He has handled numerous complex settlements, some involving the use of Miller-Shugart (policy assignment) agreements, Pierringer releases and loan-receipt arrangements. He is a frequent lecturer and has published several articles on insurance topics.Chris also represents clients in other intricate commercial litigation. His cases have involved railroad defense, product liability, personal injury, minority shareholder disputes, contract and warranty disputes, antitrust, employment practices and psychological malpractice.Clients who return to Chris for representation or refer other individuals to him praise his substantive knowledge and responsiveness. Chris�s personal commitment to cases is demonstrated by his strong, high-energy advocacy on behalf of his clients.Representative Cases:In TeleCheck Services, Inc. v. Northland Ins. Co., et al., No. H-03-0301 (S.D. Tex. 2006), obtained coverage under an errors and omissions policy for defense costs, settlement payment and a majority of coverage action fees.Pursuant to a directors� and officers� policy, recovered defense costs incurred in responding to a subpoena. Onvoy, Inc. v. Carolina Cas. Ins. Co., 2006 WL 1966757 (D. Minn., July 11, 2006).Successfully obtained advertising injury coverage in West Am. Ins. Co. v. Symington Construction, Inc., 2003 WL 1985804 (N.D. Dist. Ct., March 29, 2003).Limited the extent of an insurer's subrogation interest in Hamanne v. Central States, 11 F. Supp. 2d 1065 (D. Minn. 1998).
