Mr. Was represents the largest provider of behavioral health services in Tennessee, and advises behavioral health providers statewide with respect to managed care and compliance matters. He also represents a behavioral health managed care company active in the Medicaid and Medicare Programs. Mr. Was acts as general counsel to a senior citizens life care retirement community. He handles Tennessee state tax law controversies for a variety of clients. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Was served as Trial Attorney, Civil Division, United States Department of Justice from 1974-1977. He was Deputy Assistant General Counsel, United States Department of Energy from 1980-1983. After moving to Tennessee, he served on the Board of Zoning Appeals, Oak Hill, Tennessee.
