Christopher H. DeGrezia is counsel in the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. Christopher's practice focuses on complex commercial transactions and land development projects.
Zoning & Land Development. Christopher has broad experience in all aspects of municipal land use and real estate development. He has guided clients through land use procedures and approvals in connection with commercial, office, retail, residential, agricultural, industrial, warehouse, hotel and restaurant developments. He has represented many national and local real estate developers, corporations and individuals before local, county and state agencies for issues such as subdivision, site plan review, variance relief, environmental matters, farmland preservation, waterfront development, Mt. Laurel housing and comprehensive rezoning applications.
Business Transactions. Christopher provides representation in transactional matters including structuring and negotiating agreements, financing, acquisition, sales, commercial leasing and construction contracts. He has advised clients regarding appropriate entity formation and has drafted and negotiated numerous leases, condominium documents and purchase agreements.
Local Government Law & Regulation. Christopher has provided advice and guidance to a variety of governmental entities including municipal township committees, municipal borough councils, planning boards, zoning boards of adjustment, public utilities and numerous governmental subcommittees and commissions. In 1995-96, Christopher clerked for the Honorable Raymond A. Hayser in the Superior Court of New Jersey where he focused on prerogative writ litigation.
Community Involvement. Dedicated to community service, Christopher serves on numerous committees and boards of civic, charitable and educational institutions. He sits as secretary to the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees for the Montgomery Center for the Arts, Board of Trustees for CancerCare and provides legal services to Habitat for Humanity, Montgomery Friends of Open Space and the D&R Greenway Trust.
Professional Associations. Christopher is the President of the Princeton Bar Association, and a member of the Real Estate Section of the Mercer County Bar Association, the Monmouth County Bar Association, the New Jersey League of Municipalities and the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys.
Education. Christopher received a J.D. cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law and a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. While in law school, Christopher served as a legal intern for the Honorable William F. Tuohey, United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. He also served as a legal intern for the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region II, Water, Grants and General Litigation Department. In 2000, he was inducted into the Seton Hall Preparatory School Hall of Fame. |
