Chris brings a wealth of high-level executive experience in the entertainment industry to DivX, Inc. From 1999 to 2005, he served as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), providing key oversight to all divisions of the company: film, television and distribution units, home entertainment, consumer products, music, networks and interactive groups. Chris played the leading role in MGM's reinvigoration, spearheading efforts that resulted MGM's industry leadership in Home Entertainment library sales, marketing and distribution. Through strategic deployment of the company's intellectual properties, Chris maximized the asset value of Hollywood's largest modern film library, transformed the company's United Artist's label into a specialty film unit and negotiated strategic alliances with Twentieth Century Fox and NBC. During his tenure, MGM's stock appreciated almost 50%, outstripping industry peers dramatically in share price appreciation over that period.
His 24 years of executive experience also include key management positions at Universal Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, Pepsico and Price Waterhouse. DivX stands to benefit from Chris's expertise in finance, sales, negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate resource management, corporate reorganization and strategic planning.
In addition to his business responsibilities, Chris is involved in numerous charitable and industry related organizations. These include serving on the board of Motion Picture Television Fund (MPTF) Foundation and the MPTF Corporate Board of Directors; the MPTF's Foundation Board Planning Committee and Foundation Board Executive Committee; the Foundation of Motion Picture Pioneers Board of Directors; the American Cinemathique Board of Directors; and the Entertainment Industries Council Board of Trustees. |
