Dr. Kim is a leading authority on issues surrounding global trade and Asian energy markets. He served as Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva from 1995 to 1999. Prior to his posting at the WTO, Dr. Kim was Korea's Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
He is currently Vice President and Professor of Economics and International Trade at Sejong University in Seoul and serves as President of the Sejong Institution, a research institute affiliated with the university. Dr. Kim also sits on the Board of the Korea First Bank and is a Vice Chairman. He regularly advises the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Korea International Economic Policy Institute (KIEP) on trade policy matters. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the International Cooperation Committee of the Federation of Korean Industries. Dr. Kim is a graduate of Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts where he earned Master's and Doctorate degrees in Political Science. |
