Dr. Stern is a professor and chairman, Department of Genetics and Development, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and professor in the Center for Neurobiology and Behavior. Dr. Stern is a world-leading researcher in the field of embryology, focused on developmental biology in early chick embryos. He is the author of numerous publications and books in the field of developmental biology. He is also the managing editor of Mechanisms of Development and serves on the editorial boards of Development, Cell, and the International Journal of Developmental Biology. He received his D.Sc. and M.A. from the University of Oxford, and also holds a D. Phil in Developmental biology from the University of Sussex, UK. |
