Clay Siegall co-founded Seattle Genetics in 1998 and is the company�s President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Under his leadership, Seattle Genetics has developed a diverse portfolio of clinical and preclinical product candidates targeting a variety of cancer and autoimmune indications. The company is also a leader in antibody technologies, notably its antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) platform. Dr. Siegall has guided Seattle Genetics� capital-raising activities, securing more than $230 million through public and private financings, including the company�s initial public offering in 2001. In addition, the company has entered into multiple strategic collaborations, including an exclusive worldwide license agreement with Genentech for SGN-40 valued at more than $860 million, and several ADC collaborations including with Genentech, MedImmune, CuraGen, Bayer and Progenics that have generated more than $60 million since 2001.
Prior to co-founding Seattle Genetics, Dr. Siegall was with the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute from 1991 to 1997 and the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health from 1988 to 1991. He serves on the Board of Directors of Alder BioPharmaceuticals, a private biotechnology company, and the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association (WBBA), as well as on the Board of Governors of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Business Alliance. He received a Ph.D. in Genetics from George Washington University and a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Maryland.
