Clive Punter started his career in the media industry at Associated Newspapers in 1986. He spent 10 years in the advertising department of the Daily Mail, progressing through the ranks and enjoying three rapid promotions to become the youngest Display Sales Manager at the newspaper in 1991.
Recognizing the opportunity in the Outdoor industry, Punter moved to Viacom Outdoor (then known as TDI) in '95, He conceived and implemented a creative sales strategy for Viacom Outdoor's media opportunities which has consistently delivered market beating results.
Punter's ability as a great motivator was recognized with promotion to Group Sales Director in �98, giving him responsibility for driving revenues within the National and Regional teams for the London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, bus, tram & Inter-urban coaches. Under Punter the national sales team were twice nominated for Media Week �Media Sales Team of the Year', most recently winning the accolade in 2002 for its creative sales team Impact.
In April 2000 Punter was made joint Managing Director along with Andrew Oldham. Together they have a clear vision to grow the business considerably and put Viacom Outdoor at the forefront of innovation in the UK Outdoor advertising industry. Following the success of the UK business, he took on the additional role of Director of International Sales, working hand in hand with local European sales directors to export and import best sales across European markets.
Subsequently, Punter was named European Co-Chief Operating Officer in 2004 alongside Guillaume Prot.
Punter, 36, is passionate about his work and his enthusiasm is infectious and inspirational to his colleagues. A family man with two lively toddlers Thomas and William, he manages to combine a busy work schedule with an equally hectic home life and the occasional ski trip.
Viacom Outdoor sells all advertising space and sponsorship opportunities on the London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, buses, trams and Inter-urban coaches across the UK.
