Cornelis Van Kuijk is licensed in the Netherlands and the EU as a physician and radiologist. He is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiology at the VU University Medical Center (Free University) in Amsterdam. Previously, he worked as Director of the Imaging Trial Office responsible for Scientific Management and Coordination in the Department of Radiology at the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam (1998-2004) and as Vice-Chair of the department of radiology at the Radboud University Medical Center Nijmegen (2004-2006).
Dr. Van Kuijk received his M.D. from the School of Medicine, University of Leiden (1988). He completed his residency in radiology at the Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam (1996), in the Department of Radiology, where he also acquired a Ph.D (cum laude) (1991). From there, Dr. Van Kuijk moved to the United States and worked as an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. There, his main focus was on laboratory management with fifteen radiologists and MDs, providing expert readings as well as research with a main focus on bone densitometry, fracture assessment, imaging of osteoartritis and rheumatoid arthritis, and imaging of orthopedic appliances and accompanying diseases such as osteolysis (1996-1998). He is an expert in muculoskeletal radiology and emergency radiology. Dr. Van Kuijk resides in the Netherlands with his wife and five children.
