Over 28 years of progressive strategic planning, resource optimization and business management experience in the electric utility industry give Mr. Fricke insight into today's changing business environment. He has been on the staff of CIPCO since 1982 when he joined as Special Projects Engineer. He was promoted to Manager of Marketing in 1985, appointed as Vice President of Corporate Planning and Business Development in 1990, and then promoted to his current position in 2004. Mr. Fricke began his career in 1979 as Project Engineer for Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative, Wilton, Iowa.
Mr. Fricke leads a group of dedicated professionals responsible for the functional areas of finance and accounting, human resources and organizational development, marketing and business development, pricing and contract development, enterprise risk management, corporate and consumer research, resource planning, and data systems. A primary focus for the Business Operations Group is to assess and anticipate changing market conditions in order to specify economically robust supply, sales, and demand response portfolios to serve CIPCO member needs.
Mr. Fricke serves on the Board of Myriad Developers, L.C., on the Board of the Iowa Capital Corporation, and is a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers and the American Management Association.
He served as President of the Iowa Food and Energy Council, as a member of the Board of the National Food and Energy Council, as a member of the Iowa Area Development Group Advisory Council, and on various NRECA committees. He is also the recipient of the Iowa Area Development Group's "Leadership in Facilitating" award for work in negotiating rural business development projects.
Mr. Fricke earned his B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering (electrical power and processing specialization) from Iowa State University in 1979. He completed the Leadership Iowa Program of the Association of Business and Industry Foundation.
