Craig M. Hatkoff is a Director of Capital Trust. Messrs. Hatkoff and Klopp have worked together continuously since 1982 when they started Chemical Realty Corporation. In 1989 the two formed Victor Capital Group L.P. a private real estate merchant banking firm that became the foundation of Capital Trust. Prior to the formation of Chemical Realty Corporation in 1982 Mr. Hatkoff was named the head of new product development for real estate at Chemical and was responsible for a number of innovative financing vehicles that were considered among the earliest prototypes for commercial mortgage securitization. He also helped develop some of the first applications of interest rate hedging techniques for real estate project financing. Mr. Hatkoff has extensive experience in asset and liability management restructurings and workouts. He started at Chemical in 1978 and was initially a loan officer in the Real Estate Division with responsibility for accounts in the New York City region. Mr. Hatkoff graduated from Colgate University and received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He created and for four years taught the "Real Estate Capital Markets" course at Columbia.
