Craig is the assistant dean for the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine Inova Campus and the director of undergraduate medical education for Inova Health System. In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Cheifetz was recently appointed as director of the Inova Executive Health Center, an innovative program designed to meet the needs of strategic companies and their key executives. He also serves as co-chief of the Internal Medicine Section, Department of Medicine, Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Dr. Cheifetz received his internal medicine training at Georgetown School of Medicine. He has been an integral part of Inova Fairfax Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children and its medical staff since completing his chief residency seven years ago. His primary interest is as a clinical educator, having completed both the Stanford Faculty Development Facilitators program for Clinical Teaching and the Harvard-Macy Program for Leaders in Medical Education. He was instrumental in the formation of the successful faculty development program within the Department of Medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital, having trained more than 110 clinicians in the area of clinical teaching.
Dr. Cheifetz lectures nationally in the area of clinical teaching skills. He has received numerous awards and was recently presented the Top Young Internist Award by the American College of Physicians for the Commonwealth of Virginia. |
