Dr. Cynthia Sellers consults for Noel-Levitz from her position as vice president for student affairs at Fort Valley State University (GA). In her position, she provides leadership and continuity in the long-range planning of programs offered by the department, and coordinates policy information, the budget, and the employment of personnel. She also provides supervision and coordination for a wide range of student services, including Athletics, Career Development, Educational Opportunity Center, Educational Talent Search, Differently Abled Services, Faith Based Support Services Center, Health Services, Judicial Affairs, Residential Life, Student Life and Development, and the Upward Bound Program.
Dr. Sellers chairs several committees at Fort Valley State, including Opening Convocation, the Enrollment Council, the Black History Month Planning Committee, and the Freshman Orientation Planning Committee. She also serves on the editorial board of the journal of the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals. In addition to being a Nissan-ETS Fellow, Dr. Sellers has received numerous awards and honors, including the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals Presidential Award. Her student success efforts at Fort Valley State contributed to the institution's reception of a Noel-Levitz Retention Excellence Award. Dr. Sellers has participated in leadership development programs such as the Millennium Leadership Institute, the Nissan-ETS HBCU Leadership Summer Institute for Vice Presidents for Student Affairs, and the Executive Leadership Summit. Dr. Sellers received her Ph.D. in higher education administration from Georgia State University. |
