Mr. Nguyen founded XactiMed in April 1998 and has led the company ever since. With concurrent roles as chairman, president and CEO, Mr. Nguyen directs the XactiMed team in long-term planning as well as oversight of operations. His background includes more than 20 years of senior management in the health care industry. Prior to founding XactiMed in April 1998, he served as chairman, president and CEO for Nashville-based IPN Network, a subsidiary of UICI (NYSE:UCI). IPN was an early entrant into the health care outsourcing market and pioneered both a total management offering for hospitals (including registration, medical records, billing, cashiering, contract compliance and collections) and an integrated back-office operation that included office-based and hospital-based physicians. Proprietary systems included an electronic billing and claims clearinghouse operation, managed care contract compliance and accounting and centralized billing and collections. IPN, which comprised over 700 employees, posted annualized revenues in excess of $33 million and served more than 500 health care clients. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Nguyen was senior vice president of strategic planning and business development for FoxMeyer Health Corp., a $6.2-billion, NYSE-traded pharmaceutical distribution company. As the driving force for the company's North American strategy, Mr. Nguyen was instrumental in the formation and building of FoxMeyer Canada, which became the largest health care technology company in Canada at that time. FoxMeyer Canada provides physician practice management software, dental software, pharmacy software, pharmacy benefit management and hospital information software. FoxMeyer was acquired by McKesson in 1997. FoxMeyer Canada (TSE:FOX) went public and now operates under the name MediSolution. Prior to his tenure at FoxMeyer, Mr. Nguyen was chief executive officer of U.S. HealthData Interchange (US HDI), a provider of a proprietary physician practice management software and clearinghouse solution. Founded by Mr. Nguyen in 1985, US HDI developed under his leadership until the company's sale to FoxMeyer Health Corp in 1994. US HDI's physician practice management system and clearinghouse were eventually acquired by ProxyMed (NASDAQ:PILL), which currently operates under the direct payer connections to the major health insurance carriers that were negotiated by Mr. Nguyen. Mr. Nguyen serves on the Parker College of Chiropractic Board of Trustees, on the Finance, Compensation and I/T Committees, since 2005. |
