Dan was previously a Director in Merrill Lynch's Investment Banking Group, where he helped build the Financial Sponsors Group practice from 1994 to 2004, and initiated and developed relationships with many of the firm's key private equity clients. He served on Merrill Lynch's Corporate Finance Committee from 2000 to 2004, where he was responsible for structuring tailored solutions for complex financial sponsor transactions. While at Merrill Lynch, Dan advised private equity and corporate clients on approximately 60 completed acquisitions and financings representing over $30 billion in transaction value. He has extensive experience in transaction origination and execution across mergers and acquisitions, equity and equity-linked issuance and leveraged finance. Dan received an AB, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1989 and earned a PhD in political economy from Princeton University in 1994. He is also a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris, France, where he was awarded high honors, and Stanford University's Inter-University Center for Graduate Study in Yokohama, Japan. |
