Daniel J. Ives, SmartConnect, Inc.'s CEO and president, has spent his career in software and hi-tech fields, in both the corporate and the entrepeneurial environments. His broad background and experience enable him to oversee SmartConnect's overall corporate and product direction and strategy. His experience in sales and strategic development enable him to drive key business partnerships and oversee major customer relationships. Smartconnect's Vision systems leverage advances in digital imaging, data mining, and broadband to provide restaurants and casinos with an ideal solution that provides greater visiblity into their operations to maximize revenues. Ives has more than 16 years experience in operations that include integration, software development and I/T engineering in commercial and governmental markets. He spent 9 years at IBM in Micro Electronics Development, Sales and Marketing. Prior to joining SmartConnect, Inc., Ives was the Vice President and CIO of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas where he facilitated the separation of information systems, networks and security system that were fully integrated with the centralized MGM Mirage infrastructure. Ives developed a team and a highly secure, state-of-the-art gaming technology infrastructure for the Golden Nugget while facilitating another sale of the Golden Nugget to Landry's Restaurants, Inc. Ives graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was also a founding committee member of the HTNG's "Gaming SIG" (Hotel Technology Next Generation, Gaming Special Interest Group), which is a non-profit organization of hotel and casino operators seeking to advance industry's "solutions" around existing standards. |
