Dan Kelly enters his first season as the television play-by-play announcer for Blackhawk hockey on Comcast Sports Net Chicago.
Kelly, began his hockey broadcasting career in 1997, as the radio play-by-play announcer for the St. Louis Blues for three seasons on KMOX Radio (1997-2000). He spent four season as the television play-by-play announcer for the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets on Fox Sports Net Ohio (2000-2004).
During his tenure with FSN Ohio, Kelly also hosted live pre/post game shows for the network's Blue Jackets coverage and earned a Midwestern Regional Emmy award for outstanding live sports coverage.
Kelly, a graduate of University of Dayton in 1996, also spent two years with Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain (2004-2005) handling a variety of on-air duties including play-by-play announcing for college hockey and basketball telecasts, sideline reporting for college football games and hosting the network's Denver Broncos half-time shows.
Kelly spent he 2005-06 season as play-by-play announcer for HDNet.
Kelly's family is well established in the NHL broadcasting world as his father, the late Dan Kelly, Sr., was the legendary voice of the St. Louis Blues for 21 seasons and his brother, John Kelly, is the current voice of the Blues.
Kelly is single and resides in the city. |
