Daniel McMurray is a senior executive with more than 30 years experience in the healthcare industry. Dan has a proven track record of achievements working for healthcare systems, individual hospitals, and medical institutions and associations.
Prior to joining Focus Management Group, Dan served as COO of the Jackson Memorial Medical Center, one of the nation's largest medical centers with 1686 beds and gross revenues of $1.4 billion. Dan directed and coordinated the medical center's strategic reorganization to significantly improve net revenue within one year.
Additional prior senior roles include CEO of St. Anthony's Health Care Center, where he developed and implemented key new business development programs for this multi-corporate, 435 bed acute care facility to raise net revenue by $2 million annually, Administrator of University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he improved operating income by $2.7 million, and SVP for the Broward General Medical Center. Net revenues at the latter institution exceeded budgeted projections by 27% under Dan's leadership. Dan has also provided consulting services to healthcare institutions in strategic planning, operations, managed care, performance improvement, capital strategy, due diligence, transition management, and continuous quality improvement.
Dan is a member of the Hospital Financial Management Association, the American College of Health Care Executives and the South Florida Hospital & Healthcare Association. He serves as a board member for the Florida Hospital Association, the American Association of Eye & Ear Hospitals, and the Association of Voluntary Hospitals of Florida, Inc. He also serves as the Health Administration and Policy Program Advisory Board Member for the University of Miami, School of Business and was a founding board member of S.A. Insurance Ltd.
Dan has been awarded a B.A. from Fordham University and an M.B.A. from Cornell University's Johnson School of Management.
