After retiring from Universal Studios in January 1997 Dan Slusser joined DTS Inc. in April of that year as CEO and Vice Chairman of its board of directors. In 2001 he was named Chairman of DTS.
Dan has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than 33 years in the entertainment industry. Prior to joining DTS he worked for MCA Inc. (Universal Studios) and 20th Century Fox Film Corporation where the bulk of Dan's experience was in both staff and operational management positions. Dan last served as MCA Senior Vice President and General Manager of Universal Studios Inc. where he was responsible for the operation of the world's largest and most active motion-picture studio.
Dan Slusser is past chairman of the Permanent Charities Committee and has been involved in many industry organizations including the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He served on the Technical Committee and the Presidential Advisory Council for the Museum of Television and Radio. Additionally Dan is a member and past two-term President of the Los Angeles Film Development Committee a two-term Chairman of the L.A. County Filming Advisory Board and past Vice-Chairman of the California State Film Commission. He is the recipient of the 1986 Presidential Proclamation Award from SMPTE and was named 1986 "Man of the Year" by the Israel Histadrut organization. |
