Daniel A. Mullen is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm�s Washington, D.C. office. As a member of the Trial Department, Dan focuses his practice on complex trial and appellate litigation and counseling, including the representation of publicly traded and privately held clients in connection with business operations, international, federal and state litigation, private arbitration and internal investigations. Dan also represents energy companies, commodity companies and brokerage firms in private litigation and in investigations and proceedings before the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Defending publicly traded energy company in private class action litigation alleging manipulation of energy markets and the price of commodities on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX)
Representing energy trading companies in connection with the CFTC�s investigation of price reporting, wash sales and attempted manipulation
Defending investigations by the CFTC into alleged violations of the U.S. Commodities Exchange Act by commodity traders
Representing an international distributor of medical devices in dispute with manufacturer
Representing a publicly traded IT consulting firm in contract dispute with major software vendor
Representing a privately held medical device manufacturer in civil disputes concerning ownership of the company, ownership of intellectual property and securities fraud with responsibility for formulating strategy and coordinating litigation efforts in multiple-forum litigation
Representing a publicly traded U.S. enterprise software manufacturer in international litigation concerning licensing, employment and contractual issues
Leading a team in implementing and updating a privately held aerospace company�s internal policies and conducting a litigation preparedness assessment
Pro bono representation of numerous disabled children seeking appropriate educational placements and related services from the New York City Department of Education
Prior to joining the firm, Dan was in private practice dealing primarily in commercial litigation and appellate matters, with particular experience in land use, landmark and zoning law, major class action, complex commercial arbitration and commercial transaction litigation issues.
Dan previously clerked for the Honorable Allyne R. Ross and the Honorable John R. Bartels, U.S. District Judges for the Eastern District of New York.
Dan is admitted to practice in the federal and state courts of New York, the District of Columbia and New Jersey.
