Daniel A. Osher is an associate in the Monterey office and co-chair of the special education practice group. His practice is focused primarily on special education. Dan represents clients in all aspects of special education law, including providing day-to-day advice, attending IEP team meetings, and representing school districts in mediations and due process hearings. Dan has successfully represented school districts in numerous due process hearings, involving a wide range of issues including eligibility, assessments, appropriateness of placements, and requests for placement at private schools. Dan has also advised clients in areas such as developer fees, construction issues, and employee discipline.
Mr. Osher received his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law, his M.A. from the University of Texas, Austin, and his B.A. from the University of Santa Cruz. While at Berkeley, he received the American Jurisprudence Award: Estates and Trusts, the Moot Court advocacy award, and, along with his teammates, the Best Brief award in the national Wechsler Moot Court competition. Mr. Osher joined the California State Bar in 1999, and is also admitted to the Washington State Bar. |
