Daniel B. Smith is vice president and controller. He joined DuPont in 1972.
Mr. Smith has served in various management positions in DuPont Finance, including employee compensation and benefits, financial planning, mergers and acquisitions and finance director assignments in Australia (1978 to 1981) and Mexico (1984 to 1988). He was appointed controller of both Automotive Products and Fabricated Products in June 1988 and later that same year, assumed the duties of the planning director of Fabricated Products. In December 1992 he was named assistant controller and director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting, DuPont Finance. He assumed his current position in January 2003. Mr. Smith is a member of the Committee on Corporate Reporting of Financial Executives International.
Born in Granite City, Ill. in 1947, Mr. Smith graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and completed the course work for a master in economics at the University of Illinois. |
