Dan Glaser is chief financial officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. He is responsible for Financial Services, Treasury, Network Management, Actuarial and Underwriting, and Workplace Resources. Glaser joined BCBSNC in 1998.
Previously, Glaser worked from 1994 to 1998 with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of the National Capital Area in Washington, D.C., where he served as senior vice president of Managed Care, Finance and Administration, and chief financial officer.
Glaser has more than 18 years of service with Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans and more than 16 years of service with Ernst & Young.
Since his arrival in North Carolina eight years ago, Glaser has served as chairman of the board of the Durham United Way as well as sat on numerous committees for the United Way. He was a member of the NAIC/AICPA Sarbanes-Oxley Task Force, and a Steering Committee member of the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness in Durham. Glaser currently serves as chairman of the board of Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers Inc., is a board member for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, and serves on various committees at Immaculate Conception Church.
Glaser is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor�s degree in accounting from Bellarmine University.
