Prior to joining Suss Consulting, Mr. Braun spent 9 years in executive positions with EDS. He served as the EDS� Representative to the National Coordinating Center for Telecommunications, advising the Department of Homeland Security on issues of government-industry policy, information sharing, and collaboration with regard to securing the nation�s critical infrastructure. Earlier, he served as a Business Development Executive and as an Account Executive in which he provided executive oversight and management for as many as thirty simultaneous orders for information technology services in support of twenty one Department of Defense customers in the National Capital Region.
Before joining EDS, Mr. Braun served a career in the US Army culminating as the Deputy Director of Architecture on the Headquarters, Department of the Army Staff. In this assignment, he supervised the integration of the Army�s telecommunications and IT architectural efforts (operational, technical, and systems architectures including their security profiles) with direct impact on the procurement of $269 million in IT equipment.
Earlier in his Army career, Mr. Braun held a variety of positions in the Defense Communications Agency. Initially, he managed the communications support of the National Military Command Center in the Pentagon. Later, he managed the operation of all deployable assets of the Defense Communications System and was deployed as the Agency�s Operations Manager for Operations DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM. Immediately after Operation DESERT STORM, he became the Acting J6 of USCENTCOM Forward.
Mr. Braun also served in two Joint Programs the first as Test Manager of the TRI-TAC Program with responsibility for testing equipment having a $500 million program cost to the government and the second as Technical Director of the World-Wide Military Command and Control System modernization program. Additionally, Mr. Braun held a number of command and operational positions in his Army career.
