Dan Palmquist is a shareholder and assistant chair of Leonard, Street and Deinard�s Employment Law Department. He litigates and counsels on all aspects of employment law, including discrimination, contract, employment-related torts, and the enforcement and defense of agreements not to compete and other restrictive covenants. In addition, Dan is an ERISA litigator, and handles claims for benefits, fiduciary duty, and ERISA discrimination litigation.
Dan also heads the firm�s Immigration practice group. Dan�s immigration practice is focused on assisting employers and individuals with all aspects of their business-related immigration needsrom nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent or green card )visas to I-9 compliance and audits.
Dan is fluent in written and spoken Spanish, and has been active in serving the low-income Latino community in the Twin Cities. From 1998 to 2001, Dan served a term as a commissioner on the St. Paul Human Rights Commission, hearing individual employment and housing discrimination claims. Before joining Leonard, Street and Deinard, Dan clerked for Senior Associate Justice Lawrence R. Yetka on the Minnesota Supreme Court.
