Dan currently has responsibility for all Information Technology functions throughout the corporation, including internal information services, e-commerce and customer technology activities. In his tenure with PMI, Dan has also had responsibility for Insurance Operations, including Claims, Policy Servicing, Billing, and Structured Transaction Operations.
Dan has more than 30 years experience in information systems development and management, and more than 10 years experience in general management. He began developing information systems with a unit of the General Electric Information Services Co., where he was the Director of Operations for the San Francisco Peninsula office. He then spent several years as Partner in the accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, where he managed the Information Technology Consulting practice in the Pacific Region (California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, and Hawaii). Dan returned to industry in 1990, joining Mercy Healthcare San Diego and the HealthFirst Network as Vice President, Information Services and Chief Information Officer. In 1994 he became the Vice President and Chief Information Officer for St. Joseph Health System, which operates hospitals and physician organizations in California and Texas. He joined PMI in 1997.
A native of Los Angeles, Dan attended the University of California at Los Angeles, receiving his baccalaureate degree from the College of Letters and Sciences in 1971, having majored in mathematics with a minor emphasis in Computer Sciences. He went on to receive his Masters of Arts degree from UCLA in 1973, specializing in Quantitative Methods. Dan holds the ICCP Certificate in Date Processing designation. He is a member of the Technology Committee of the Mortgage Insurance Companies of America (MICA), the industry trade association, serves on the Residential Technology committee (ResTech) of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), and is a member of numerous other industry committees. Dan has served on the Board of Directors of numerous public, private, and not-for-profit entities. |
