Daniel Eliades is one of the firm's founding members and heads its national franchise related bankruptcy practice. Mr. Eliades represents franchisors in franchisee bankruptcy cases throughout the United States. That representation includes the collection of unpaid royalties for the franchisor, the negotiation of the assumption or rejection of franchise agreements, the protection of the franchisors intellectual property and bankruptcy litigation. Mr. Eliades has been admitted pro hac vice in dozens of bankruptcy courts throughout the country in connection with his representation of some of the largest franchisors in the world.
Mr. Eliades also represents secured and unsecured creditors in debtor/creditor disputes and restructurings as well as in bankruptcy cases. Mr. Eliades serves on the Board of Directors of Synergy Bank. Mr. Eliades often counsels creditor clients to attempt to resolve conflicts and, whenever possible, maintain loans or accounts as earning assets. When a consensual resolution is not possible, Mr. Eliades possesses the bankruptcy and litigation experience necessary to pursue the creditor's rights and remedies against the collateral, the borrower and any guarantors.
Mr. Eliades also represents financially distressed businesses in out of court work outs and restructurings in chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Eliades has represented a wide range of retail businesses, manufacturers, and service providers in successful reorganization efforts.
Mr. Eliades has been appointed as a 'special master' by the Superior Court of New Jersey. He has been appointed by the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey to the District II B Ethics Committee which investigates and makes determinations concerning alleged attorney ethical grievances.
Mr. Eliades has published numerous articles and served as a contributor in reference and practice series in the areas of bankruptcy law, foreclosure law and bankruptcy fraud.
In addition, Mr. Eliades has lectured extensively on bankruptcy issues. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Bankruptcy Law at New York University School of Continuing Education and as a Master in the William H. Gindin Bankruptcy Inn of Court.
