Daniel Okrent recently completed his term as the first public editor of the New York Times. He retired as editor-at-large of Time Inc. in July 2001 where he was also editor of new media and managing editor of Life Magazine. He serves on the board of the National Portrait Gallery a division of the Smithsonian Institution. Mr. Okrent held the position of Hearst Foundation Visiting Fellow in new media at the Columbia University School of Journalism. Mr. Okrent is the creator of Rotisserie League Baseball and his latest book "Great Fortune: The Epic of Rockefeller Center " was published in October 2003 by Viking Penguin. Mr. Okrent graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. |
