Darryl A. Parson is counsel in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group of the firm. His practice is focused on complex and general securities, partnership, contract and commercial litigation, including shareholder derivative suits and class actions. Darryl joined Drinker Biddle from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where he was an associate in the Wilmington Office, and earlier was an associate at Latham & Watkins in New York. His background includes entrepreneurial experience as founder and general manager of REACH New England Magazine, distributed to 35,000 businesspersons with an editorial focus on minority- and female-owned enterprises.
Professional Memberships and Personal Affiliations. Darryl is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association ("DSBA"), a member and chair of the DSBA Multicultural Judges & Lawyers Section, and the 2006 recipient of the DSBA New Lawyers Distinguished Service Award. He is a director of Delaware State Bar Insurance Services, Inc., a former associate member of the Delaware State Board of Bar Examiners, the former secretary and current treasurer of the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court, and a member of the New York State Bar Association.
He is a director of the American Civil Liberties Union/Foundation of Delaware, a member of the Columbia Law School Association, the Board of Managers of the Downtown YMCAs, and the Harvard University Alumni Association. Darryl is past president of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Wilmington Alumni Chapter, a member of Kappa Mainstream Leadership, Inc., a trustee of The McLaughlin Fund, and a member of The Monday Club, Inc., the Salesianum School Board of Trustees, and the Black Alumni Society of Salesianum.
In General. Darryl received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University in 1994 and his J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1998, where he was a member of the Columbia Business Law Review, vice chairperson of the Black Law Students Association, coach of the 1998 Legal Outreach, Inc. Mock Trial Competition Tournament Champions and head representative of BAR/BRI Bar Review, Inc. He also served as an intern to the Labor Relations Counsel of the National Football League Management Council. |
