Darryl G. Smette 59 was elected to the position of senior vice president Marketing and Midstream in 1999. Smette previously held the position of vice president Marketing and Administrative Planning since 1989. He joined Devon in 1986 as manager of Gas Marketing. His marketing background includes 15 years with Energy Reserves Group/BHP Petroleum (Americas) Inc. where he last served as director of Marketing. Smette is also an oil and gas industry instructor approved by the University of Texas Department of Continuing Education. Smette is a member of the Oklahoma Independent Producers Association Natural Gas Association of Oklahoma and the American Gas Association. He holds an undergraduate degree from Minot State University and a master�s degree from Wichita State University.
