Chief Gates was the 49th chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, a post he held for almost fifteen years until his retirement in 1992. Chief Gates' counsel has been sought frequently by governors, attorneys general, senators, congressional committees, and presidents of the United States on matters of public safety. He currently has his own company, "Chief," which provides assistance in the areas of domestic and international security, and is executive vice president for Global Point, a technology company providing wireless digital video for law enforcement agencies. Chief Gates is a graduate of the University of Southern California. |
