Daryn Lau, senior vice president, corporate marketing and strategy, joined AMCC in May 2005 as vice president, Communications Business Unit. In September 2005, Mr. Lau was named senior vice president and general manager, Integrated Communications Product Business Unit and was responsible for running AMCC's semiconductor business. In October 2007, Mr. Lau was named senior vice president, Corporate Marketing and Strategy.
Before joining AMCC, Mr. Lau was vice president and general manager for the IDT serial switching division. In October 1999, Mr. Lau co-founded ZettaCom and served as president and CEO. ZettaCom was acquired by IDT in May 2004. Prior to his executive role at ZettaCom, Mr. Lau spent seven years at Cisco Systems. His last position at Cisco was within the service provider line of business where he co-architected and managed the development of Cisco's high-end multi-service switching platforms. Prior to Cisco, Mr. Lau led the ASIC development group N.E.T., a telecom equipment provider. He also held a senior engineering role in the mainframe computer division at Amdahl.
Mr. Lau holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from University of California, Berkeley and four patents in the data communications area. |
