Dave de Simone is senior vice president of engineering at Blue Coat Systems and has more than 25 years of engineering operations and business development experience in computer systems software and storage networking industries.
Prior to joining Blue Coat David was vice president of engineering at Brocade Communications the leading provider of Storage Area Networking systems and solutions. At Brocade Dave oversaw the growth of the Brocade product line from a single storage switching product to a family of switching platforms with value added software offerings. Before Brocade Dave spent eleven years with Compaq/Tandem where he was vice president of engineering and was responsible for a variety of hardware and software engineering as well as a variety of business development and partnering functions. Dave's most recent focus at Compaq included responsibility for clustering products that were sold through the Industry Standard Server Group and were also integrated as a core technology in Tandem's products. Prior to Compaq/Tandem Dave spent 4 years at MIPS Computer systems holding a variety of positions in engineering and also built the operations organization there from the ground up. Prior to MIPS Dave held engineering and management positions with Apple and with Amdahl.
