As vice president, human resources, Dave Smith is responsible for the leadership of human resources, including benefits and compensation, talent development, staffing and employee and client services.
Smith has more than 25 years of experience in human resources with leading U.S. companies. Before joining AGL Resources in 2005, Dave was the vice president, global rewards and recognition at Delta Air Lines, Inc. Earlier in his career, he held a variety of human resources posts at Motorola including director of human resources for Motorola�s commercial, government and industrial systems sector. Smith began his career in human resources at U.S. Steel.
Smith serves on the teaching faculty and as a board member of WorldatWork, the global association for compensation and benefits professionals. He has a professional certification in compensation from WorldatWork. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral sciences from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in industrial relations from St. Francis College.
Dave is a native of Indiana. He and his wife, Beckie, have two children, Stephanie and Chris, who live in the Denver, Colorado area. |
