David has more than 30 years of business advisory experience. Prior to joining Huron Consulting Group, David was a partner and national practice director for one of the world's largest public accounting and professional services firms. His special focus is preparing calculations of insured losses and advising policyholders in negotiating insurance claim settlements. David has assisted clients in the retail, wholesale distribution, telecommunications, real estate, publishing, hospitality, sports, healthcare, petrochemical, environmental, transportation, and manufacturing/mining industries.
Professional Experience
Insurance Claims Consulting
Since 1979, he has directed teams called in to calculate complex and significant lost profits and extra expense insurance claims, presented claims to insurance company representatives, and provided objective advice during settlement deliberation in over 100 engagements for clients.
Authored article, Business Interruption Insurance A Business Perspective, which was published in the Spring 1993 edition of the Nova Law Review.
Authored article, The Lawyer�s Role in the Insurance Recovery Process: Understanding Business Interruption Loss Valuation Issues, which was presented to the Chicago Bar Association in the Summer of 1998.
Advised clients suffering losses due to substantial area wide natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods and earthquakes.
Participated in seminars sponsored by various business organizations to provide counsel and advice to businesses suffering catastrophic losses.
Advised clients with complex employee fraud/dishonesty losses, both domestic and international in scope, on the calculation and presentation of fidelity claims to their insurers.
Litigation and Financial Consulting
Directed engagements and provided expert testimony in a variety of litigation engagements including insurance claims, patent infringement, product liability, purchase price disputes, breach of contract claims, construction claims and dealer termination disputes.
Acted in the capacity of an arbitrator to resolve business disputes.
