David A. Glenn is President of Engineering for ION Media Networks, overseeing all technical aspects including operations and future technical developments related to maximizing the company's assets and distribution. Mr. Glenn is credited for building the largest group of television stations from the ground up and leading the development of the company's unparalleled model of centralization now emulated by other broadcasters.
Since joining the Company in 1991, Mr. Glenn has overseen the construction of 102 television facilities, including 52 digital TV stations; 79 new master control facilities; 37 new towers; as well as the Company�s network operations center and central monitoring facility, which communicates with and monitors all of the Company�s 60 television stations. Mr. Glenn has managed the Company�s digital station build-out, helping the Company to be the first to begin digital multicasting in the U.S. with its Chicago station, WCPX-DT, in early 2000.
Mr. Glenn began his career in the broadcasting industry in 1979, working for a radio and television group in Tampa, Florida. From 1984 to 1986, he worked in FCC compliance for the broadcast consulting firm, Carl T. Jones & Associates, in Washington, DC. Later, in 1986, Mr. Glenn started his own company, helping design and build 20 radio and television stations until 1990.
