David Jimenez was named executive vice president in 2001 and chief operating officer in 2005. He oversees Finance and has direct oversight for six of CHP's regional CEOs. He previously had served the system since 1999 as senior vice president of CHP and president and chief executive officer of CHP's Northern Region. Mr. Jimenez views faith-based healthcare as a ministry of the church and sees himself as a steward of the resources entrusted to him.
Prior to joining CHP, Mr. Jimenez was senior vice president of Adventist Health System in Winter Park, Fla., where he was responsible for seven hospitals in Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico. He also chaired the board of Adventist Care Centers, the nursing home division of Adventist Health System. Previous positions include Southwest Regional vice president, Adventist Health System; president and CEO, Huguley Health System in Fort Worth, Texas; regional vice president of the Florida region of Adventist and chairman of the board and CEO of Medical Center Hospital in Punta Gorda, Fla.; president and CEO, Hialeah Hospital in Miami, Fla.; executive vice president, Corona Community Hospital in Corona, Calif.; and chief financial officer of Corona's parent company, Versacare, Inc.
In 1990, Mr. Jimenez was one of 10 healthcare professionals chosen by Healthcare Forum as an "Emerging Leader" and was one of 12 young healthcare administrators nationally recognized by Modern Healthcare magazine as an "Up & Comer."
Mr. Jimenez earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern Adventist University; a master's degree in healthcare administration from Loma Linda University; and a postgraduate degree in healthcare financial management from the University of South Carolina. |
