David Krall is president and chief executive officer of Avid Technology, Inc. He joined Digidesign, a division of Avid, in 1995 and became COO of that division in 1998. The following year, Krall was named president of Avid, and in April 2000 he was promoted to CEO.
Under Krall's direction, Avid has revitalized its video postproduction product line, grown its audio division through product development and acquisitions, and expanded its broadcast business to become the global leader in end-to-end news production solutions. These initiatives have enabled Avid to achieve new records in revenue and net income over the past five years.
As Avid has solidified its lead in the professional media industries, Krall has also led the company's expansion into the consumer video and audio markets through the acquisitions of Pinnacle Systems and M-Audio. Today, Avid's diverse portfolio of offerings supports the full spectrum of digital content creation, from the beginner to the Oscar-winning professional.
Krall holds bachelor of science and master of electrical engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a master of business administration degree, with distinction, from the Harvard Business School. |
