David has provided litigation support valuation and consulting services to the energy and chemical industries for over 20 years. His valuation experience includes estimating damages and lost profits from business interruptions contract disputes construction disputes antitrust matters and other commercial disputes. David has also conducted commodity market and price analyses for antitrust matters merger and acquisition evaluations and for new product commercialization. David's experience in the power industry includes providing expert analyses and opinions on operating and maintenance costs contract disputes and estimating damages. He is familiar with power plant operations economic dispatch and commitment and scheduling. While an engineer at Amoco David evaluated various environmentally friendly generation technologies.
His expertise in the petrochemical and petroleum industries is based on his previous work at Amoco Corporation as well as a consultant to petroleum and chemical company clients. He has performed techno-economic analyses of various natural gas conversion technologies including direct natural gas conversion to olefins various synthesis gas technologies to hydrocarbons alcohols ethers and carbonates. David has also worked in operations in petroleum processing plants conducted catalysis and process operations research and developed process simulation software. He has assisted clients with evaluations of technology portfolios estimating lost profits damages in contract disputes and construction disputes.

Steam Cracking Plant Construction Dispute
Evaluated the damages from a severely delayed start-up of a green-field plant in South America in preparation for a potential arbitration.
Evaluated the damages associated with a very protracted start-up and commissioning process. The damages included the delay damages lost profits and extra expenses.
Business Interruption Litigation
Testified for a major integrated oil company involved in a major business interruption litigation.
Led a large engagement team to evaluate the lost profits to the refinery during the interruption evaluate the plaintiff's extraordinary expenses and evaluate some of the potential mitigation opportunities.
Oil Field Services Dispute
Assessed the damages to an oil field services company's service lines as a result of the interference by a former director and employee. Damages included lost profits extra expenses to replace and train new employees and damages to its capital program.
Power Contract Dispute
Provided expert and rebuttal reports on damages from a power contract dispute. Client purchased multiple blocks of power with each block having its own rate and/or pricing terms from the same utility. Central issue in litigation was the deviation from pricing terms for just one of those blocks of power.
