Mr. Cooper is a Member in the firm's Civil Litigation Unit.

Mr. Cooper is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois. He is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, United States District, Southern District of Illinois and the 8th Circuit of Appeals.
Professional Activities:
Mr. Cooper has extensive experience in investigating and defending insurance claims. As a litigator, he has handled hundreds of insurance claims involving incendiary fires, explosions and fraud, as well as environmental claims involving toxic mold, permanent disability, respiratory disorders and skin disease.
Mr. Cooper�s background is uniquely aligned with his practice in insurance defense. Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, he served for several years as a police sergeant in North St. Louis County. Throughout the course of his police service, he received specialized training from investigative authorities including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Secret Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He continues to work closely with federal, state and local authorities in those cases where criminal investigations are initiated.
Mr. Cooper has been a guest speaker for the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators, the International Association of Arson Investigators and the Greater St. Louis Claims Association on subjects involving fraud, arson and insurance law. He has also spoken for the Missouri Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigative Units, the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters and claim offices of several property insurance carriers.
His training in interview and interrogation, as well as his combined investigative and trial experience, provide him with insight and abilities in coordinating and defending insurance claims that few other lawyers possess. |
