David D. Campbell serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ACCO Brands Corporation, a role that he has held since the company's inception in August 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Campbell served as President and CEO of ACCO Brands' predecessor company, ACCO World.
Over the decades, Mr. Campbell has developed extensive management experience at the highest levels across a number of sectors - from construction products to hardware - in addition to the office products industry. Across all of the leadership roles and industries in which he has served, he has focused on harnessing industry-wide changes, and combining brand building, product innovation, and disciplined supply chain management to deliver exceptional value to customers, and strong growth to investors.
After serving in a number of marketing and management roles with Molson Industries, a Canada-based international brewery, David Campbell joined Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in 1983, becoming the President of the company's newly-created Construction Products business in Canada. In this role, he grew the business organically and through several strategic acquisitions, transforming it into an international industry leader.
In 1989, Mr. Campbell joined ACCO World as President of ACCO Canada. After growing the company's business in this market for several years, in 1992, he oversaw the company's American operations as Senior Vice President of ACCO U.S.A., before being selected to head Fortune Brands' Hardware Group in 1995.
As the head of Fortune Brands' Hardware Group, Mr. Campbell focused on setting high growth-generating strategic goals for both Masterlock and Waterloo Industries, including entry into new markets throughout the world and the addition of new products in targeted categories for these businesses.
In January 2000, after further building the industry leadership of the Fortune Brands Hardware Group, David Campbell joined ACCO World, becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of the company in January 2000. In this capacity, he led and grew the company until its spin-off and merger with GBC to create ACCO Brands Corporation in August 2005.
Educated in Canada, David Campbell received his Bachelor of Science from McMaster University, and his Master's Degree in Business from York University. |
