Mr. Miller focuses his practice on complex litigation and arbitration matters. He has significant experience in international arbitrations, particularly in the banking and satellite industries, and is familiar with the arbitration regimes in New York, London, Geneva and Moscow.
Additionally, Mr. Miller has been involved in a variety of entertainment law matters. In the past, he has represented three musicians in a dispute with their record label; the owner of certain photographs in regard to a traveling museum exhibit and book; and a major Hollywood studio with respect to the filming of a motion picture in Moscow.
Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Mr. Miller was with Hogan & Hartson LLP and prior to that, he was with White & Case LLP, working out of the Moscow office.
Mr. Miller is fluent in Russian and French.
Representative Experience
o Represented a contractor to the United Nations with respect to competitor's bid-rigging scheme.
o Represented the exclusive licensor of a clothing line in a Lanham Act action brought by a South African company.
o Represented three minority shareholders in a Russian oil firm in dispute with United States company regarding the alleged acquisition of their shares.
o Represented German art gallery owner in international arbitration with U.S. partner.
o Assisted in international arbitration regarding contractual dispute between satellite manufacturers.
o Assisted in international arbitration concerning misuse and loss of funds by Russian bank.
