David E. Robinson is president of Tyco Fire & Security, a division of Tyco International. Under Robinson�s leadership, Tyco Fire & Security has refocused its business strategy around core fire and security businesses, generated strong cash flow, and built a strong senior management team dedicated to growth, profitability and operational excellence. Robinson originally joined Tyco in November 2002 as president of Tyco Plastics & Adhesives. Before joining Tyco, Robinson spent 17 years working in a number of key positions with Motorola (formerly General Instrument), including president of its broadband communications sector. He successfully led this global, multi-billion dollar business through dramatic changes in the market environment and drove extensive profitable growth through leveraging new technologies. Prior to becoming sector president, as general manager of Digital Network Systems, Robinson increased revenue from zero in 1995 to approximately $2 billion of annual revenue in 2000. Earlier, he started the company�s fiber optics business in 1988 and took it from zero revenue to the leading position in the cable television industry. He began his career as a financial analyst and subsequently moved into product management. Robinson also spent two years directing AT&T�s cable television product line. Robinson received his bachelor�s degree from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and a master�s degree in business administration from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
