David J. Antczak is a partner in the Commercial Litigation and Communications Litigation Practice Groups, where he has developed a diverse practice. His experience is focused primarily in the areas of antitrust, consumer protection, telecommunications and securities fraud.
Throughout his career at Drinker Biddle, David has represented clients in defense of putative class actions and complex litigation matters, including representation of:
* A national wireless carrier accused of violating federal and state consumer protection laws by locking wireless handsets for use only on the carrier's network;
* A pharmaceutical company in several putative class actions and Attorney General cases in which the company is accused of fraudulently marketing a prescription medication for off-label use and concealing the medication's adverse side effects;
* A national wireless carrier, where David helped defeat certification of a consumer class action in Michigan regarding the carrier�s billing practices;
* A national accounting firm in a securities fraud class action that settled favorably; and
* A financing company faced with multiple governmental investigations and putative class actions based on its financing of leases for a telecommunications provider accused of engaging in a Ponzi scheme.
Professional Memberships. David is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and in the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of both the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations.
Education. David graduated, cum laude, from Colgate University in 1994 with a dual major in history and biology. In 1997, David received his law degree from the Villanova University School of Law, where he was managing editor for the Villanova Law Review and a teaching assistant in the school�s Legal Writing Program.
Community. David is active in his community and in charitable work. He currently sits on the Boards of the Philadelphia Children's Alliance, an organization that supports child victims of sexual abuse, and the National Adoption Center. |
