David J. Armstrong is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Civil Litigation, Criminal Defense and Anti-Trust Law, with a particular emphasis in Commercial Litigation. Mr. Armstrong is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, Pennsylvania Supreme Court and various District and Circuit Federal Courts. He is also a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, and American, Pennsylvania, and Allegheny County Bar Foundations. Mr. Armstrong is a prominent and widely recognized trial lawyer who litigates in Federal and State Courts and agencies throughout the United States in numerous substantive areas of law. He began his career as a personal injury defense lawyer and expanded his practice to include all facets of litigation. Since he represented Westinghouse Electric Corporation as national counsel in the electrical equipment antitrust cases more than 30 years ago, Mr. Armstrong has represented major corporations and prominent individuals in large and complex litigation including antitrust, securities, commercial, contract, class actions, shareholder derivative actions, and personal injury. He has represented CEOs and Board Members of numerous major corporations such as Gulf Oil Corporation, Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, and PPG Industries, Inc. Finally, he has represented major corporations in large multi- plaintiff personal injury litigation involving claims of defective products. Mr. Armstrong has been named in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America and is the only lawyer in Pennsylvania to be named in as many as three different categories; Business Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation, and Criminal Defense. Mr. Armstrong is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Allegheny County Bar Associations and has served in those organizations in many capacities, including House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania and Judiciary Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Associations. He is a member of various sections dealing with substantive areas of the law of these Associations. Mr. Armstrong graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1952 with a B.S. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 1956. Mr. Armstrong is a frequent lecturer for N.I.T.A. He has and does serve on numerous civic and community boards and committees. For the last ten years, he has worked on economic development of the region, serving as both chairman of a county commission and on the board of an Allegheny County authority. He has also been active in arbitration, mediation and other alternate dispute resolution activities. He serves as an Arbitrator on the Large and Complex Case Panel of the American Arbitration Association and has served as an Arbitrator for other organizations, including the International Chamber of Commerce. He has also been active in the representation of clients in various ADR proceedings throughout the country. |
