Mr. Gury began his career as a financial accountant with Abbott Laboratories rising to Director of Marketing Development with Abbott's Scientific Products Division. Following the organization of Alpha Therapeutic Corporation, Mr. Gury was Vice President, Plasma Operations. In May 1984, David J. Gury joined Nabi Biopharmaceuticals as President and Chief Operating Officer. He was elected Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President in April 1992 and served as President to 2002 and CEO until June 2003, and was instrumental in transforming Nabi into a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company. Mr. Gury is Chairman of Florida Research Consortium; past Chairman and member of BioFlorida; a past Director of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Greater Palm Beach County Chapter; Commissioner, Florida Emerging Technology Commission; Member, Biotechnology Industry Organization; and Member, Enterprise Florida - Technology, Entrepreneurship, Capital (TEC) Leadership Council. Mr. Gury received the Boca Chamber of Commerce 2002 Businessperson of the Year award and the Ernst & Young 2003 Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Health Sciences category. Mr. Gury completed his undergraduate work in economics at Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio and received his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Chicago, specializing in accounting and finance. |
